Goin' to look at 6MT

Where do you live? High traffic (NYC/LA?) or hilly (SF?) If yes to any of the above, then I'd say seriously think hard before buying the 6MT. The clutch is heavy and not linear (well, not as linear as the Hondas I have driven in the past), which can make bumper-to-bumper driving a workout. I was almost embarrassed at how many times I stalled my car when I first got it ... and I thought I was 'knowledgeable' driver. Oh well!
I live in a pancake flat city and rarely drive on hilly roads (of Toronto). When I do, it's not a big deal -- you get used to it. Traffic in Toronto is no where near as bad as LA or NYC.
Otherwise, you may wish to buy the 7AT in the 2009 model. 5AT is so 1990s.

From: St. Louis, MO area
I live around St Louis, MO area, so there's not a whole lot of hills, and yea, we get some traffic here and there (rushour morning and afternoon time when I'm communting to and from work of course). I guess I'd better give it some thought, the 5AT gets boring though. Yeah, I think I only drove stick like once in my entire life, but I'd be willing to learn. Thanks for all the responses

purchase price..
hi guy,
I just picked up my 08 g37S for 200 over invoice, plus with the .9% financing, it doesn't get any better than that. Depending what they charge you for the lease it may be a good time to buy.
with the market being so bad, now is a buyers market! For almost anything!
happy shopping

In 1966, when I was 17, my first car was a 1951 MG-TD. I learned to drive a stick the first night I had it, showing it off to my high school buddies. We lived in a hilly area of northern California, but by the end of that night I had it mastered. That precious car was followed by a Fiat 124 Sport Coupe and a Mazda RX-7. In 1994, I went with an AT Ford T-bird. I only mention this history to create perspective with my return to MT this September in a G-37. It was like love renewed. In my test drive I knew I had to have a stick again, and I'll be 60 in 4 weeks. The point is, once you learn to drive with a clutch, you will always know how, and want to go through those gears.
