Yeah, it says "Side View Monitor - Color..." I can't make out the Kanji because the characters are blurred up.
I've seen this on the Nissan.co.jp SKYLINE V36 site too. For the sedan (and probably the coupe as well) they have a front/side view camera that lets you see oncoming street traffic from the front/immediate side angle.
I'm not sure if this would be totally useful in the states because Japanese roads and streets are extremely tight. I mean even Midtown/Manhattan isn't THAT bad. (That's probably why Japan has minicars and we don't.)
Sorry, my version of IE doesn't let me download and properly view the Asian characters. To the OP: How did you get the Japanese to show properly? I have 2 laptops - Vista Ultimate/IE7 and XP Pro/IE7 and I couldn't get either language pack to work. Funny cuz I have the Japanese Office 2003 and the characters show up just fine. lol. So ignore the funny characters but you get the idea.
Anyway, here are some pics of the front/side view camera offered on the V36 sedan.
The front cameras are by the front licenese plate; the on/off switch is next to the shifter. I'm sure you could retrofit this to a US-spec car but you'd have to buy all new consoles, etc.
The other cool things that JDM-spec cars get are optional LED interior lighting (for the footwells, etc.) and powerfolding, auto-dimming outside mirrors (like BMW, Lexus, and Audi). Some if not all of these features are offered/will be offered to Middle Eastern and European customers. Nissan North America likes to jack its cars and dumb them down a lot so we won't see any of these features like... EVER.
