I'll go on vacation for a week and either drive an SUV or not drive at all.
Everytime I come back and get into my car I'm like wow. This is a really nice car. You tend to get used to how nice of a car it is, but go away for a little bit come back and it's really impressive.
That said I do agree it's no GTR or high end luxury car. But it is a nice fun car.

This is a depressing thread.
I'll add to it.
The G37 is great - but it is what it is. When I first got it - being my first 6spd, sporty, somewhat high end car - I felt like I had a Japanese Maserati. Now that I've been an owner for a year - I can say that it's still fun to drive - and still a blast around the corners - but it went from feeling like a "high end, high performance luxury Sports GT" to a "fun daily driver"...
I WANT MORE SPEED! Maybe I'll get the next gen m3 in 4-5 years from now. Hope I can afford it!!!!

Some of you guys sound like domestic horsepower junkies, always wanting more. I don't have this car yet but will very likely buy it this week (unless I find the a5 i want). Japanese auto engineers are thoughtful in the sense that they balance the performance of the entire car. The handling characteristics and brakes matches the power output. Unlike domestic engineers, who tend to squeeze as much power as they can out of their motors, throw IRS and/or an LSD on it and call it a day (the exception being the vette of course).
Now I've driven it a few times and will say that this car is very well balanced, in terms of drivability, comfort, handling, power, the features, ect. All these factors put together, make the G37S an excellent and versatile daily driver for me. Maybe you guys should get an sti or evo for a weekend/project car. Or....an old beat up civic to help you appreciate the G more

The best thing I ever did as far as keeping me interested in my G37S was I bought a new 2500 Chevy Diesel (4 door 4wd) for my daily driver.....
I drove the Infiniti to work this morning just for a change of pace and it felt like I was in a formula 1 car compared to the truck...
It's a very nice car that pushes all the right buttons but if you're looking for a rocket ship this isn't it...I went through the same thing when I swapped my 11 second Lightning for this initially but I've since come to appreciate it for what it is and I'm much more satisfied with it...It's kind of a jack of all trades but a master of none but for the price it's a tough combo to beat IMO...
But man oh man...every now and then I miss that old blower whine at 16psi.....and the neck snap of 500+ rwtq off the line... I mean the diesel's got 650+ but it just ain't the same when it's pushing 9000+lbs of truck (and occassionally another almost 10k lbs of trailer on top of that)
I realize for the price of the 2 I could have easily bought a GTR, Z06, etc...but I look at it this way: for the 90K I spent total I can tow the planet, play in the mud/offroad, go up to the mountains in a very nice GT or cruise up to Mortons for dinner in reasonable style. Basically I got all my bases covered...

just want to say i have a sportbike and i just wanted something close to it, nothing to outrageous, but the g37 is just flat, compared to the gtr or amg 63 mercedes, the power is deceiving, its very linear, like i said not bad and not great.

The G37 is overall sexy, performance wise... it's alright. But adding a TT kit, exhaust, intake or built motor..etc. Performance would be top notch. There is a reason why mods are available for this car and that is to improve whatever you want to improve.

Of course, when you compare it to AMG 63 and GTR.

WTF? what is the point of this thread? Really, none of this makes sense. An AWD drive car is not that fast? no $hit, should have gone to Audi, they make a great deal of money selling slow stylish cars and they would be happy to take your check. The G is a GT not a quarter miler. The G is fast, deceptively fast and 330 Hp is fine. NA cars have little room to tune so get a FI car and wear it out before you pass the problems on to the next owner. Stupid Thread.
