I know it's not a big deal but it drives me crazy with newer cars.

Does the car beep if people don't wear seatbelts?!? If so, is there a way to get rid of it?

It sure as hell better beep if at least the driver and the front passenger don't wear them.

Then again, I don't know the kind of people you carry in your car, so I guess I'm not really partial to having their lives saved

Congrats on the '09! The phone situation blows and it has been that way since the start of the '08s. Very counter-intuitive. Seems like a college intern designed the Bluetooth system for this car.

The iPod thing is also a pain in the a$$!!!!!! And yeah, they are probably just trying to sell more Nav units so that's why they do it that way. What they should do is somehow allow the passenger to access the Nav while in motion. I shouldn't have to add a mod to be able to do this to a 45k car. Pathetic!

They have to do that to protect themselves from lawsuits. You know someone would be using it and then get into a crash and then blame Infiniti for allowing them to use those features and become distracted.

Yep I understand that. They could easily have someone sign the release saying that Infiniti is not responsible for boneheads that reck due to the NAV. If you don't want to sign it, then the dealer locks it up before it is sold to you. The demo didn't have this locked. How do Garmin and the rest of the manufacturers get away with this? I'll bet somewhere in the documentation/manual that there is a "not responsible" statement.

Well, at least KT Tech is available.

KT Tech? Can you provide a URL? Any chance they've come up with a mod kit to fix the Bluetooth Phonebook?
