Deceleration Issues

Has anyone else noticed that the instance you lift off the gas the car feels like it pulls up and doesn’t coast? Is that a byproduct of the LSD or the tranny slowing the vehicle? I’ve driven rear wheel drive vehicles before and never noticed this type of behavior. Anyone has any ideas?

If you have a 6MT and put it in neutral to coast you'll be amazed how long it will roll....

What gear are you trying to coast in? The higher the gear the less resistant it will be. Its a G, you shouldn't be coasting anyways!

Is your car auto or stick? If it is auto, you may need to reflash the ECU. There is a TSB on tranny surg during deceleration.

With an stick, that's just what happens if you're in gear (unless you're in a high gear and at a low RPM), put it into manual and you'll coast forever.

I noticed this too in my 5AT.... I think its because my last car had a true overdrive gear with very little resistance when you left off the gas.

The G is pretty agressively geared so even in 5th you will feel the resistance of the engine when you let off the gas.

Its a 5AT. I've been out trying it today again and if I just lift it feels like the breaks are being applied. Spoke to my mechanic about it and he thinks it could be the torque converter.

I had that same thought today...I have 5AT, when I let off the gas it feels as though i'm immediately applying a the break. Is this what the TSB addresses??

do you notice your car idling higher than it should? it may be the surge issue covered in a tsb.

well for sport yea because i think when you let off the gas or come to a stop it downshifts faster, not 100percent sure

in sport mode, it's trying to replicate downshifting as you would if it was a manual transmission for spirited driving application. it also does that on acceleration as well. but dang, it sure waste a lot of gas......

Just wanted to drop a quick update on this. I've narrowed the issues down to the ICC, it seems to be malfunctioning. I.E. it never seems to shut off and it does not seem to work when its on. I have a service appointment scheduled for Friday so i'll know if that was the real issue on Saturday.
