I cant seem to turn off VDC

I was in a empty parking lot and thought I should have a lil fun with the car so I pressed the vdc button and it says off but when I hit the gas and try to power slide it starts too but the slip light blinks and it feels like the car engaged one of my front brakes to control the slide,
Any ideas??

Maybe it's a sign that you shouldn't be acting like a dumbass in the parking lot.

I just got the car back from dealership and they did a performance check and they said everything was working perfectly! although im sure they didnt try to get the car sideways, thank God!.
Its just odd to me that it seems like it wont fully disable, it does give the car more freedom but vdc is still stepping in!

When VDC is off, VDC is off, there is no in between. Unless it says VDC Off then it is not. Just keep it on, save your tires and the headache of going sideways into stationary objects.

I've turnded my vdc off and was able to get it to step out quite easily. Granted I could be wrong since I have only had my car for a month, but I think the slip light is more of a warning before the vdc actually kicks in. I have had that slip light come on going slow around corners and pushing it around corners. It doesn't feel like the car is slowing down or that the throttle has been limited, but I have seen the exclamation point light come on while I was going fast around a corner and there my throttle was limited and I could feel the car applying the brakes.

Off for Autox

I AutoX my Journey Sport with VDC off. I tried it ON once and it cut power. I don't think VDC will engage the brakes but it did limit power even before the slip. With the VDC on in 2nd gear M the car handles like a rwd manual sports car in 2nd gear. It stays in 2nd gear with a very positive engagement and the light indicates when I am slipping but there is no correction other than my own. I also have the LSD and it seems to help a lot. The sport brakes are also very good for autox. Not track time to test fade yet but they work good for me in AutoX. For a car with this much heft , my times are pretty good.
