if it's not corresponding with the RPM's and goes away, it doesn't sound like it's the TSB issue to me.

If you still have OEM exhaust, it is probably that. I would here it on mine too but I think it is the sound of the metal heating and cooling.

thanks guys!
Mine had the same issue. My service advisor told me it was the type of oil Infiniti uses, so he tried a different type of oil. I doubted him, but gave him the benefit. He gave the car back, and knocking noice went down, not away. I then printed the TSB from this website and took it to him (It sounded exactly like yours). He saw the TSB and stated: "Amazing how Infiniti gets it to the consumer prior to us. I can get this done in a minute, it is the ECU setting".

He took the car, I got it back in 5 hours (It also had the muffler rattle, hence the 5 hours).

Til this day (its been well over a month), nothing wrong.

^^^glad you mentioned this. I think I may have been looking at the wrong TSB. Like you, I had the valve click TSB and exhaust rattle TSB addressed recently. OP, do you also notice your car idling weird?

Callaway, my car idles fine. Nothing weird about it. I just hear the click.ticking noise and it slows down and diminishes after I am idling but after a drive, especially a hard drive - it ticks pretty loudly and pretty rapidly.

The TSB I brought in with me to the dealership is the same one as at this link:
https://www.myg37.com/forums/tsb-technical-bulletins/181172-itb07-007a-tapping-noise-from-dash-area.html
APPLIED VEHICLES:
2008 G37 Coupe (CV36)

APPLIED VINS:
G37 Coupe built before JNKCV64E(*)8M 125916

APPLIED DATES:
2008 G37 / G35 built before: 03-Apr-2008

A tapping noise coming from the dash area when the engine is running at operating temperature,
NOTE: This tapping noise, if it should occur, sounds like a screwdriver being tapped on the work bench.
The tapping speed increases and decrease with the engine RPM and may require engine RPM of about
3000 for the noise to be heard.

I mean the sound does match up....Speak of the devil I can hear them revving my Tanabe from 1/2 mile away I think they are having fun diagnosing my problem, swear 2 God...lol

Anyways I wonder if my snap crackle pop ticking is from the TSB problem or the oil. I plan on changing to Mobil 1 Synthetic around 10-15k miles come spring I wonder if that will help??

Here's the verdict - it is not that TSB.

They have narrowed the click/ticking noise to being from some bad insulation on the stock Y Pipe, luckily for me they did not try to pin any blame on my Tanabe Axleback Exhahust, lol. Since the Y Pipe is closer to the Cats than the Rear Section. They are ordering parts and will notify me when it's ready for install. They are ordering a new Y-Pipe altogether w/new insulation.

SWEET! I am really getting my warranty's worth.
