I hate weed eaters!!!

It seems that everytime I drive somewhere with the 37, I run into these inconsiderate people who enjoy using their weed eater near the road without pausing for a passing car. I've already gotten 1 chip because of this. Anyone else with my luck?!?!

You know what sucks more than weed eaters?

Within a week of owning our G37, I installed a 3M paint protection kit. Not waiting for the dump-truck deal like what happened to our eight-day old GS300 Lexus a few years ago. Got the pre-cut kit from an eBay seller and don't worry too much about some areas. Always watching for those rock-tossing trucks and inconsiderate weed whackers. Back in 1995 while stationed in Panama we had a driver's side window shattered from a weed whacker.

I feel all the above. I have blemish on my rear bumper from a weed eater throwing a rock into the back of my car.

Calgary has a municiple by-law called the "tarping bylaw" that requires all open trucks to cover their loads. It helps, but every once in awhile you get the good stray projectile. Problem is that it's not enforced consistantly and the fines need to be much much higher (currently $150; I'd bump it to $500)

No owner or operator shall:
  • unless the operator has obtained a permit from the Traffic Engineer drive on or along a street a motor truck or other motor vehicle with or without trailer with either the box of the motor truck, the trailer, or body filled with refuse, sand, gravel, rocks, earth or other loose material, whether similar or dissimilar, unless the box or body is completely covered and secured by a tarpaulin or other covering.
  • drive on or along a street a motor truck or other motor vehicle with a box or body filled with sand, gravel, rocks, earth or other loose material, whether similar or dissimilar, unless the box ledges, side boards and vehicle chassis have been cleaned of loose material and the load is distributed in such a manner that no portion of the material can escape upon a City street or upon land in the vicinity of a City street.

Back in 1990 I had a brand new T-bird super coupe. Car was parked next to an island in a parking lot. Dumb-azz gardener was running a whacker right next to my car throwing dust and clippings all over my new baby! After chewing this Einstein out and checking for damage (luckily none as he had just started) I walked away. The ***** started up again! After that, It was kind of a blur but, His weed whacker motor got shattered and the shaft got bent into a 90! The look on the morons face when I handed it back to him was priceless! End of story! I was expecting a visit from the Po-Po but it never happened. I laugh at it now,But I used to have quite a temper back in the day!
