Get an '09 or wait for '10 turbo?

You are right. It has to be cheaper than BMW at all times.

Will the G37 take away buyers of the 370Z , likewise would a TTLuxCoupe take away buyers of a GT-R. LuxCoupes vs Sports cars...two different buyers. Just playing devils advocate.. I still see it coming.

Typical advice, however there is such a thing as the "sweet spot." Bying a car a year before it goes from 5AT to 7AT = FAIL. Bying it and having the only updates for two years being a rotory heat setting and new door handles = PASS..lol, you get my point. If I bougt a 09 now and in 10 they released a TT with dual clutch, sportier looks, same lux interior for 5-6K more=FAIL!!! Just like War, the only way to win this game is not to play.. or have a relative in Nissan engineering

It's a lot more expensive to twin turbo a car, than just put a bigger engine in it. Plus, all that added weight for piping, intercoolers, turbos and such add weight to the front end.
Based on Infiniti's investments in N/A engines, like the 3.7 and the new 5.0L... I would say it's more probable to see a larger N/A engine before a TT setup in the G class.
And even beyond that, Infiniti has a really good niche cut out for the G37. It would seem more likely to see an expensive TT powerplant in an M-class luxury coupe before the G class... a la the new S5, BMW 6 series, MB CLK, etc.
The turbos are kind of a non-issue, now. Usually, they offer performance and fuel efficiency benefits. But Infiniti has the new 3.7L engine with very similar power and fuel efficiency compared to the turbo BMW 3 liter... at much less cost to produce and maintain, so N/A ftw. For instance, Lexus went with their corporate 5L engine for the IS-F.
While it may seem absurd at first, the way I see it, if MB can stuff a 6.2L into the C63, then Infiniti can stuff a 5L into a G50 and not look ridiculous at all.
My only concern would be the added weight up front...
edit: btw, if there were to be a turbo engine forthcoming, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2.5L, with performance and fuel efficiency in mind, like Audi's 2.0 liter base engine, say with ~ 260 HP and T. That'd be a really nice base engine, while still supporting Infiniti's "performance" lean.

The world's gonna end in 2012. So get the '09 an enjoy that extra year having it.
BTW someone told me that on this forum before deciding on the '08 or '09. I pulled the trigger late April and I still carry that smile when I get in the car to this day.

There is already an M3 competitor and it blows it away, it is called the Nissan GTR. I do not see the point in Nissan putting out ANOTHER M3 competitor. It makes more sense to make a GTR with a more luxurios trim.

maybe that's why the G coupe comes stock with more wheel gap in the front...

The car's aren't even in the same class...or price range for that matter. The GTR is not a M3 competitor, a Audi R8 competitor defiantely.
