If you busted *both* headlights, that means you probably broke your crossmember as well. That means additional labor taking off the AC condenser & so forth. I got backed into and only had 1/4 the body damage of you, and the bill was 3.3K. No way is your car totalled, but you are definitely looking @ over 10K in repairs.

George, Sorry about your ride man! I have not had my baby in the rain yet, But seeing this,I know I will be feathering her throttle when i do. I have been kinda suspect already about the Potenza's in the wet. This confirms my suspicions!

Rain or not, I try to trick my VDC all the time and it only barely slides out.
I was driving down a straight road in the rain and just had one tire hit some paint lines and felt the back go all squirrly on me and had to snap it back away from the line. With VDC turned on and no turn of the wheel. If that happened just going straight I can imagine in a turn without compensating for the rain. Ever since then I've been extremely careful while driving in the rain with these tires. So I can believe at 15mph in the rain with gravel and dirt on the road even with VDC on it would be easy to lose it on a corner.

Well the appraisal has come in. $14,500 to fix this bitch.
that covers:

Right fender
left fender
front bumper
grill
airbags
both headlights
right wheel
paint
work

And its supposed to take about 4 weeks. some of you estimated pretty damn close >.<

I'd see how much you can get for the car wrecked.
Don't you usually have an option to total it if the damage is 50% of the cars value?

Too bad the accident was your fault ... you would have been entitled to a nice diminished value claim. I hope you are leasing, because you will probably have trouble unloading a car (sell or trade) that sustained that kind of damage.
