any fix for this?
It is the resonance from the new exhaust. Mine rattles in the range of 1700 to 2000 rpms. Love my exhaust but I can't deal with the rattle (the sunglass holder is empty). I suppose felt pads or something might suffice to get rid of the rattle, but I am curious if anyone has actually succeeded in fixing the rattle and what they used to get their result.

Does anyone have product suggestions for a fix? (perhaps felt or foam strips or pad, or perhaps rubber bumpers of some sort?)

Mine used to only rattle when sunglasses were in it. Now it rattles without. My car is only 17 months old and has 14,000 miles.

Someone posted that the dealer replaced. Can this be done? I imagine it's only a temp fix though. Any other methods to rid of the noise completely?

They might put some felt tape in it to push it out toward the latch a bit more.

I stuffed a nike fleece beanie in mine (towels I had were too big), which fit perfectly. No more rattling.

Excellent advice, thanks! Saw your post from my office. On the way home, I put a microfiber towel that was sitting on the back seat into the sunglass holder that I have never used since I bought the car in '08. Problem SOLVED.

My situation is a bit different! Mine isnt coming from the sunglass compartment, my rattle is coming from the part of the console that houses the done lights, ambient light and speaker.

Glad it's not just me. It's those little sounds that drive me nuts
