Well I can see how some would be upset. If we were talking about only asthetic changes and minor upgrades it would be different. Most cars do improve each year but not so drastically that ther eis a significant gap from the previous model year of the same generation. But a new 7-AT tranny is a big deal. The only thing that would be bigger is if there was a new engine option.
They should have had their R&D done on this in time to be introduced this into the 08 model of the G37. Or at least on the G37S.
What Infiniti has done is shot themselves in the foot to a small degree for the 1st year of a next generation lineup. More people will now wait to see what comes out the following year instead of the first year.

completely agree. the 7AT is a big deal and if I knew this before hand I definitely would have waited. I am angry as blackfunk is (not as angry though) but I do know I enjoy the car nonetheless. I wonder how much it would be for the dealership to put in the auto door locking/unlocking in the car. Just trying to compare to the KP Tech and see how much of a difference there is in price.
Everything else, it's just relative. Either way, '08 or '09, it's a great car.

I was really hoping the AWD version would allow us to have the sport features, or add the performance tire package as an option. The perfect combo would have been for myself the 09 AWD with all the "sport features". Would have loved the spoiler, brakes and tires you get with the "S" model.
Oh well looks like the AWD version for me
For those that have driven the "S" model and non "S" models, is it a significantly less "sportier" drive without the sport tuned suspension?

Now my fear is that the front facia of the X will be the non sport version instead of the sport. I really like the sport version over the non sport front bumper.
To be honest, I haven't even seen the non sport model with the ICC sensor, can anyone correct me?

The bottom line is, everyone with a 2008 should drive them off a cliff and use the insurance money for a 2009. I would be embarassed to drive a 2008 after mid-September..

Am I the only one here extremely satisfied and happy that I got my car? I personally could care less about 7AT, I drive a 6MT, which remains to be 6MT for 2009.
Granted, they added a few minor features because guess what, if no new features come along, then why in the world would you call it a 2009 model and not a 2008 model?
People, the car industry is always changing, and no one will ever have the latest for too long...before you know it, it will have changed. Just be grateful the car still looks the same, and puts out the same amount of power. Seat temperature dials, automatic door locks, and a paint sealant (that probably won't do much for a black car anyways because black cars show everything no matter what) are not reasons to regret owning an 08!
I LOVE my 08!
