16 - 1996 Nissan Pathfinder (parents bought for my 1st car $5,500)
17 - 2006 Scion tC (traded in Pathfinder, but I made my payments)
20 - 2008 G37 (I guess after a year in Afghanistan I thought I would buy something nice

I have bought _myself_ (without parent assistance) these following vehicles:
15 -- '89 Honda Prelude
17 -- '98 Honda Prelude
19 -- '04 Mazda RX8 with Grand Touring package
23 (well 24 next month) -- '09 Infiniti G37S fully loaded with all packages/options
And no my priorities are not off for my age... by the time I turned 21, I immediately ran out and got rid of my leased apartment and purchased my house. I believe my parents were around the age 30 when they purchased their first house.
I guess when you are a driven, goal oriented individual who knew everything wouldn't be handed on a silver platter, you get off your *** and make something of yourself.
Hell, even when I was 8 years old I knew my parents couldn't afford the shoes/clothes I wanted so I started working to be able to keep up with my expensive tastes. And to this day, I've never gone without a full time job (M-F 8 to 5 even when a full time student in college).
I'm not jealous of kids who have parents that give them everything--I was raised to work hard for what you want and you will appreciate it tons more than if someone just gave it to you.

That's very nice for you; many of us have earned a certain degree of success through hard work and diligence just as you have described here, but I can't help think that the resume of accomplishments you provided us has a defensive tone to it.
By the way, where do you live that you can buy, own and register a car at the age of 15 without the help of an adult?
