Number of G37 Sport made?
#31
Well think about it Dean. Look at the demographics. While this Board is populated mainly by an under-35 crowd, Infiniti says the average age of a G37 is 47. I'm actually older than that at 50.
I've got an AT-5. While the vast majority of my cars have had manual tranmissions, my last three - '01 Acura CL Type-S, '05 Acura TL, and now my G are all automatics.

Now Back to Topic:
I would also like to know the sales numbers,(I doubt they will release sales numbers until end of year) only sales numbers I can find are 2006 and it breaks down only the sedan/coupe numbers:

Anybody know of newer sales figures?
While G37S 6MT's appear to be rare, even more rare is G37S 6MT WITHOUT Premium package. I would like to know the numbers on that also.

Since i Have to wait 3 weeks or so my G37 Sport, it raises a question: Does anyone know what percentage of the G37 made are the Sport?
Anyone have a link with the total number made in 2008 and then the number made with the 6MT?
The local dealer had 10 - 12 G37 on the lot and NOT ONE Sport on the lot. The dealer told me no one wants the Sport. He said he people who buy the car want the automatic transmission.
I dont mind being in the minority because REAL MEN DRIVE STRAIGHT DRIVES!
Seriously thoguh, does anyone know what percentage of G37 with straight drives are made?

When I turned in the loaner and picked up the G37S, the business manager calimed it was because the 6MTs were sold right away so they couldnt keep them in stock.
I am not sure if that is true but I know it is hard to get the 6MT with the options I wanted.

there were plenty of 6MT's sitting on the lot when i bought my car. they said most people want an AT.

I think most people want the AT based on the numbers here. I like the fact that the 6MT are not sold as much personaly.
Someone hit the nail on the head though when they mentioned the Sports Package doesnt have extra HP.
I alwawys will own at least one straight drive but the the increased traffic jams and improved transmissions probably means that AT will become even more popular.
I will stick to being a black sheep!

This stuff is just personal prference. One is not better than the other.
The only thing I would like to know is the percentage of 5AT vs 6MT in the G37 world and I have had no luck finding it and have been told a lot of disparate info from Infiniti. Surely they release the numbers somewhere.
