Anyone pulled over for tint in their G37?

Anyone get pulled over for g37 aftermarket tint?

Whats the procedure if you get a ticket? Do you pay the ticket and have to "untint" the windows? Or do you pay the ticket and leave your windows tinted still haha

I plan on getting the legally allowed tint in california but even then it looks pretty dark and might get pulled over... what do you say to police if you have the legal tint and they still give you a ticket etc?

thanks

1) i was pulled over for speeding, but the cop gave me a break and wrote me up for tint and no front plate.

2) typically, you remove the front window's tint and get it signed off. then it's just a 10 dollar clerical fee.

3) legally allowed tint in cali for front windows is actually ONLY 70%, which is barely perceptible... not sure where you got "dark" from?

There is no such thing as "legal" tint in california... its something like 75%.. of course this is on the front windows only.. And if you get a ticket it you un tint your windows go see a state ref get the ticket signed off and drive right back over to the tint shop

I was pulled over for this many years ago in my old Eclipse and I had limo all the way. The cop actually had a reader that he put up to the window.

I think if you have a note from your doctor stating that tint and sunglasses are necessary due to a medical condition, the limit is lowered to 35%... at least, that's the word around the campfire.

Ummmm, "legally allowed" tint in California won't even look like you have tint on at all.

All or nothing man. Where do you live? Some cops in certain cities are more stringent than others. For example, I'm sure Irvine police will pull you over for tint when they get bored. Cops in LA probably have domestic disturbances and other more important matters to attend to, so tint isn't as high on their radar.

That’s not quite true. On some windows you can have any tint you want. Here’s the California law:

California Tint Law

But IMHO, and putting aside the safety issue of poor night vision, it is unwise to drive around with illegal tints lest you get pulled over and they find other things, like no seat belt on, out-of-date insurance papers, or worse, having had too many beers at that party you’re coming home from. It wouldn’t take much to have that modish tint ending up with your car impounded and/or you in jail.

I know in New York if you get a ticket for tints you have only 24 hours to get it signed off.

Florida FTW. A few of my friends even have 20% on the front windshield and no one cares.
