Infiniti service and loaner cars
What has your experience been with the quality of you infiniti service dept and the loaner cars they have provided you with while your car has been in for service?
I am coming from owning mitsubishis and knew I would be surprised by this aspect of the 'infiniti ownership experience'. I didn't realize I would be surprised negatively.

Ok so here is the long story - When I bought my car it had a decent scratch in the trunk lid because it was used as a car show car. When I bought it they said I could make an appointment and bring it in to get that fixed. So I drove around for a couple of weeks and then called the sales guy to make the appointment. He told me to bring it in Monday before 5:30 to make the switch - they would fix the car Tuesday and have it ready for me to pick back up by 5pm Tuesday. I went and got my loaner - A 2007 G35x in black. Nice car but inside it was really dirty, there was what looks like bird crap on the seat and sneeze on the steering wheel, the ash tray was not full of ash, but has a significant amount of ash in it, the car smelled really bad and the steering wheel and shift lever were sticky.
It was disgusting, but I figured since I was only going to have it for 1 day I would not cause a fuss and just deal with it. I went to drive away and it has less than 1/4 tank of gas (normal?), the tire maintenance warning is popping up on the dash every time I start the car and the maintenance 3 warning is now up on the dash.
So tuesday I drive the car to work, put a couple of gallons in it so I don't run out, but I don't think I should be responsible for filling it up for them. 4:30 I get a call saying the car won't be done today, but will be ready for me to pick up tomorrow (wednesday). Ok fine, not a big deal I guess. So I take the car back home tuesday and wipe down the interior because it is really pretty nasty.
On the way back into work wednesday (today) stop again to put a couple more gallons of gas in it basically bringing the fuel level back to where it was when I got the car. Then call the guy back and say I forgot to tell him but I need to leave work early today, will the car be ready to pick up around 3:30pm? He says he will call me back. At 3:40pm the guy called me and told me that it won't be ready until 5pm. Ok, that sucks but not a huge deal, I asked since sales is open until 9pm can I swing back at around 8 and pick it up then? Or maybe at lunch time tomorrow? Yeah no problem it'll definately be ready at 5pm. Sorry for the inconvenience
At 4:10pm I got another call from the guy saying they are having a real hard time getting the scratch out and they will need to keep the car overnight. It will be ready by 5pm Thursday, I asked if we could bring that forward to lunchtime. But no, we can't do that 5pm it will be ready for you to pick up.
Sorry for the novel, but that's my story.
I am really unhappy that I got a filthy loaner. I am also disappointed that they keep pushing back the completion date (that they set, not me) for the work. So either I am over expecting (and possibly overreacting) or they are under delivering. Which do you guys think it is?
The paranoid side of me things something has been screwed up that they are trying to fix with these little incremental push backs.

looks like you had a really bad experience, it was okay for them to push it back 1 day, but then it happened again? i think that calls for unexpected.
in addition, the loaner car it seems like, was a piece of junk, well at least they should of had the courtesy to clean it out, i'm guessing the previous person that it got loaned to abused the hell out of it, and the dealership didn't bother to clean it... whatever the reason is
but hopefully your next experience is better... as it should

I can say I've had two dirty loaners but you can't expect them to detail the cars after each use, that's just not feasable. Most of the time as soon as the car comes in, it goes right back out to another guest already there.

I'm taking an hour drive to Riverside Infiniti to have them install OEM paddle shifters on my non-sport this Saturday. I've never been to this dealership before and I hope they live up to their reputation!

I have to give props to Bommarito Infiniti in St Louis. I needed to get an oil change and didn't have time to wait around b/c of work. They let me drop it off in the morning and have a loaner car all day until I picked my car back up in the evening. I got an 07 G35x sedan. Given it was dirty but after all it was a loaner. On top of it all I didn't even buy my car at Bommarito.
