You might be confused alittle by earlier posts, I drove off the infiniti lot with my plates on my car. Didn't wait at all.

how? was it a pre-owned car that someone brought back?

In New York they issue you your license plate same day.

Weird, in CA we just drive it off the lot and wait for the plates to come in a few weeks. That's why when you see someone without a plate, it often means it's a new car (especially if it's got cardboard plate that shows the dealer name).

Refuse to buy the car unless they give you a license plate THAT DAY!

Tell the sales manager to have one of his salesmen take one off their own personal cars if he tries to get smarmy with you. You gotta be tough with these clowns these days.

PA guy here...I told them I wanted the car on Monday and I'd pick it up on Wednesday...By the time I got there my plates were on...
