These are problems, not necessarily repairs. If someone thinks their car has a problem, they can report it on the IQS.
Also, IQS includes design quality (driveability, usability) as well as mechanical quality (things that can be fixed); BMW's position is where it is entirely because of complaints about iDrive. So it does not reflect reliability at all.
A number of people here have been helping me provide much more useful information. Here's how my approach at TrueDelta is better:
--only measures actual repairs, not "problems"
--provides an actual repair rate for each model, not just dots
--updated promptly four times a year
--covers cars from when they are new to 10+ years old
In other words, I have the only system that continuously tracks cars closely as they age, at all ages. Want to know how cars do when 5,6,7 years old? If we have enough participants, we'll provide that information.
