I'm from Dallas and I'm glad my car didn't come with front license plates ...ruins the look of the car. Haven't had any issues at the moment but Dallas/surrounding city cops are not very picky about front license plates...you see vettes and bmw's all over with no front license plates. Usually if you explain you have no holes and carry the license plate in your car they'll let you off with a warning.

 

can't you just put the license plate in your front windshield? does that work?

 

Not in some states, like California.

 

Nor in Texas, especially if you get caught in a check point for insurance, stickers, seatbelts, etc....
