What's the best way to convince parents to get me 6MT...

As for the rental cars, I travel all the time and I have never seen a Manual outside of Oahu Exotic rentals.
I also have never known anyone to get a Manual and want to get rid of it because they got tired of it. Most of the time people get rid of the manual when it's the time to get a new car and they don't want to drive stick anymore.
Tell them you want a GT500 instead. Maybe then they will balk for the G37. You may want to invest in a good KY as the insurance is going to make some bank on your ***.

Thats right. Not everyone knows how to drive a manual transmission car- that is why they don't rent them. Imagine how many pissed off customers there would be if all of the automatics were rented out and all that was left was manuals, and the customer didn't know how to drive one? There is also way too much room for error with shifting a manual, so those cars would be in the shop continuously for repair due to people not knowing what they were doing.

tell them that manual transmissions are the way to go.... it keeps you awake when driving because you need to shift ! just bitch about it ,, that if ever you got into an accident ,, its their fault because you fell asleep with the auto ,,, hehehe

Tell them that it will stop you from texting while driving as you don't have three arms.

most of the post on g35driver pertaining to transmission choice are guys who bought an auto and wish they would have gone 6mt. the resale value is the same if not a bit higher for the 6mt as it is for an auto. if this was a forum for suv's, family sedans, or minivans, their notion of reduced resale would hold true, but we are talking sports coupes. also, 6mt's are a bit harder to find because of the production ratios (the g35 coupes were 4 to 1...please correct if i am wrong).

Do you think that'd work? Their problem is that they are comparing manual cars these days to the manual cars they had a chance to drive, for example a 1992 Nissan Stanza which was a four door sedan, with a manual transmission. I told them that a lot has changed since then....

Tell ur parents that with MT you wont be able to talk on the phone etc. while driving so u'll be much safer on the road and will concentrate more on driving...
And I know its ur choice, but seriously... AT is just as fast and fun with the paddle shifters... but whatever... ur choice...
