Maybe I missed it on the other posts, but did they tell you why only a 5AT instead of 6MT.

Honestly, just tell them you won't be satisfied with an auto. Its your money, you want the 6MT (good choice btw). Its pretty simple. You're driving it, not them. You're paying for it, not them. The only thing they're doing (if I'm understanding correctly) is that they're letting you tag onto their auto insurance.

My parents pulled a similar stunt on me when I was 17...cept they just went to the dealership and bought the damn thing. Car was waiting for me and I had no say. Course they bought me that car, so I REALLY had no say. The whole time I owned that car, I wish I had a manual.

gl on this. the 6mt and the 5at are like different cars. hope you get what you get, but i say venture out from ur parents' hold. do everything urself, if u can afford the payments etc, you can afford the little extra every 6months for insurance. glad to see you're workin hard for a nice car.

More like I've been working at their restaurant since I was 8 all the way till college without pay...Every weekend, sometimes at night during weekdays. So it wasn't exactly a silver spoon, but nice try.

Lets not turn this thread into a bash someone else cause they had to pay for there first car or they got a car from there parents.... If you have comments about someone else got something while young without payin its jealousy and no ways around it....

We all had different upbringings and some were more fortunate than others... theres no reason to discriminate...

To the OP: Do what ever you have to do to get a 6MT. Becuase if you dont you will stilll enjoy the car but in your head you will think about it everytime you start the car...

nogood- I have a ownership in a store, a ownership in a motel and I work at AT&T

The reason why they won't let me get a 6mt because they say I'll get tired of it, it won't have a good resale and my right leg has a metal pole inside from my car crash. But I have to clutch with my left leg of course so I dont see what the problem is there. Bitchin and moanin won't work vinny I tried that already.

They gave me an option though they told me to get a rental car that is manual and drive it for two months and if I dont get tired of it then I can get one. (I won't get tired but I have to pay for the rental)

If insurance costs are a deciding factor, insurance will be more on a 6MT.

Might be cheaper to buy a beater then trade it in when you buy the G37. Could also be a source of negotiating the price.
