No, if anything we will remove the "auto lock" feature from the window module. The reason it doesn't have an unlock output is because of the lack of a trigger signal to unlock the doors inside the door. The only usable signal is the RAP signal, but it doesn't switch until the car is turned off and a door is open - by that time unlocking the doors is a moot point.

There are two ways we could add an autolock feature to the window module - 1. Require that the RAP feature be disabled (you would pay your dealership ~$100 to do this and lose a nice feature) or 2. Require wires be ran inside the cabin to hook in to a true ignition source (this is a tedious job that 99% of people wouldn't do).

So, given the two options neither one is practical so we just don't include it. On the earlier year cars (03/04) the doors would open if you pulled the handle even if they were locked. Unfortunately, in '05 they changed that.

I really like the auto lock feature on the window roll up module. I can see that for the reasons you gave it would not be practical to add unlocking. Thank you sir for the explanation.

For the 09’s Infiniti finally added the auto unlock when ignition is switched off. I guess they were listening to us.

On a side note, KP mentioned that the 03-04 would unlock the door when the handle was pulled. How did they make this happen in the 03-04 coupes? Would it be possible to rig something up to make this happen? I would think that a pin or something ridged could be added to make the handle grab the lock at the same time.

so to avoid future staring contests with bums, anyone know how u can disable that thing while your car is in the "acc" position?
Lol smh at the crippled comment hahahahahahahahahahaha

Man your 8 year old post has made me a happy man. I've had my '11 G37 for almost a year and drove me crazy to shut car/engine off and then to turn the car back with/out the engine, just listen to the radio.

I'm another one who hasn't cracked the owner's manual and I didn't know this trick after nearly five years of ownership.

I am 100% the other way...

I am a "data *****" and have read the owner's manual cover to cover at least 5 times and the entire factory shop manual at least 10 times. There is lots of great info in those pages

Welp, now that this thread is dug from the dead, in order to have your gas door open, the car has to be off.

Found this out after thinking the emissions technician jammed my door, stating "You have a release inside". Have me second guessing and stuff. SMH

^^Thanks for the info! I need to take mine in in the next month or two. Guess I'll just open it for them before they even get around to it.

Because the '08 is the bastard child, '09 and later came with all of the refinements.
