So I did it...forgot to shut off the engine

Came back after lunch today, I was busy talking to my friend and forgot to turn off the engine. Didn't even hear the warming chirps.

So 4 hours later when I got back to my car and found it still running. Luckily it was still there. May be keyless start is not a good idea for absent minded people - such as me.

Do you think there's any long lasting damage to the engine by letting it idle for 4 hours? Did this happen to anyone else?

I;ve done it once going into Publix, almost done it several time but I always fall back into the car and turn it off. It should kill it after ~5 minutes with no key, otherwise, why a beep??

Okay, I'm probably asking a dumb question but how did the car continue to run if you took the key with you. Mine stops running if I get a few feet from it.

Check again. Car will run till you shut it off. Even if you walk very far away....

If yours does shut off you have a great feature that we all want!!!!
