Has anyone put on a locking gas cap?? I asked the dealer about one and they said they don't carry one or recommend one because it may not seal as well as the stock cap and thus result in a check engine light...................
Unless the car is unlocked, no one is able to gain access to the gas cap/tank. Typically the car is only unlocked while you are adjacent to it so a locking gas cap is not necessary. It is also a hassle that you will soon realize is not worth it!

I agree with DGC.....Dont sweat it too much....it will just hassle yourself more than prevent anything or do any good.
the gas door does not lock. All you have to do is push it to pop it open. But i agree don't sweat it. More bother than it is worth.
Im not quite sure what you meant by 'the gas door does not lock' but if your car is locked, the gas door is LOCKED.. Maybe you do not realize it since you car is usually unlocked while you are getting gas but give it a try next time you're around your car.

haha exactly...it does lock...that would just be pitiful design if it didnt lock at all....if u left ur car doors unlocked - stolen gas is prob the last of your concerns since typical theives would swipe a radar or w/e u have in ur car. i had my old escort x50 stolen outta my accord a few yrs ago. if i could get my hands on that lil bugger....

Man i did not know this and to tell you the truth it is something that pi$$ed me off about the car. LOL thanks for the info.
I thought you had to have the key fob to open the gas tank door. I thought it was locked regardless if the car was locked or not. I will have to check this out tomorrow.
Wow. I too was a bit bummed that the gas filler door didn't lock. I just went and checked and it does indeed lock when the car is locked. Who knew? Not me!
