Just Test Drove a G for the first time ever

hi guys, while i was at the dealer checking on the expected date of arrival for my G37, i had at last the chance to test drive a G, but it was not 37 it was a G35 S sedan 2008
i was very impressed with the acceleration and sound of the car which was like a V8 somehow , but still my neck was not thrown back when flatting the car from zero.
my question is will i feel a much more acceleration in my G37? many people are saying it is the same feeling i will get since the 37 although with more HP but more heavier.

i would really appreciate your comments if you have driven both and do u think i will be feeling more power in the 37?

lets have your feedback FRANKLY

In my experience it is similar, in fact the sedan has a much touchier drive by wire system that would actually snap your head back more off the line than the VVEL in the 37.

THe G37 does not snap your neck back. You need something like a Z06 for that. Its fast enough for me though....

+1...the G37 is a high rev'er...you want low/mid range torque you get the 335i.

I have both the G37 and an 08 G35x sedan. The G35 actually feels quicker off the line, but the 37 is faster in the end. The g37's speed almost seems to sneak up on you. You never seem to be going as fast as you actually are.

+1. My wife drives a G35 and when I drive it, it "feels" quicker but I think that is mainly due to the touchy throttle. The 37 is more like constant acceleration all the way up to redline. You will not be disappointed. There is another thread around here about the "feel" of speed and it does not feel as fast as some cars out there but it is much faster than most. The refined nature of the car isolates you some from the road so it wont feel like a Mustang or Corvette when you hammer the throttle but keep an eye on your MPH because before you know it you will be speeding.

they g37 is quicker then the sedan, as stated above it also red lines higher.. but if you want speed especially in the low end, go grab a 335i... but with the 37 auto just ran 13.5 which is really really impressive.. dont doubt the 37

its around the same. if you drop the clutch you'll get that head bashing feel but if your smooth so is the car. how come no G37 test drive?

while this car is wicked quick, I don't know that straight line drag racing is it's strongest point...

where it shines is turning curves at speed....nothing like doing an on-ramp and feeling the G-forces build as you wait for the tail to let go and the trac to reel it in...

or an off ramp to see just how much faster you can exit off the freeway...this time...

the lower center of gravity makes it much more fun than the sedan for this type of stuff...I found the sedan to feel much more top heavy....

all in all it's a blast...and I look forward to driving it every day...from the goosebumps at start up in the garage to parking it at work...just like an amusement park ride

I totally agree what has been said about the G37 and get the 6-speed cause that will only increase the fun factor.
