The feeling of speed...

Have had my G37 for quite some time now, picked her up in october. One of the things i liked about the G37 was how the power just kept building all the way to redline....my modded 350Z although tourqey (is that a word) in the low and mid range was never a high rev puller...so it was something different, and i liked it. after a while i have not been getting that rush, did a few freeway pulls...and nothing. i know i'm getting up to speed but it doesn't seem to slam be back like it did with the test drive...

...so i after doing some errands with the wife i decided to take her for a good rabbit jump...and....nothing..... even though i saw my speedo race from 0-80 faster than my Z ever did... i looked over at my wife...saw her clutching the door handle , her teeth clenched, and with her eyes all terrified...

i guess i just got used to it...

hmm. interesting, i slammed down on my throttle from 50-80 and felt nothing, but when i looked down i was going way too fast.
dunno if thats a good thing or not. i would rather prefer a sudden surge of speed rather than a smooth buildup

^^ It does seem pretty easy to speed in the G. Sometimes I'm up to 90 without realizing it, then I'm like "oh sh*t I better slow down"

I think the luxury factor has to do with not feeling the speed of the car.

After driving my best friends 350z 6MT i feel the same way...the 350z has a feel of slamming you into your seat with your head slammed in the headrest as well while the G has some what of a adrenaline slam but you really dont notice it but it catches the speed pretty damn fast

It may be time for you to put a deposit down for the GTR!!

Jokes aside, I personally experience the most torque when down shifting from 3 to 2. I think that would be your best bet if you want to get your head slammed into the backrest.

Ya we get used to it. I can get away with speeding as well because you "feel" like your going slower and the wife yells at me less. lol

So true. This keeps the tuner companies in business as well.

The refined power of the G37 seems to be enough to keep me happy for a while though...
