Question regarding key fob

What is the dimension of the key fob in terms of thickness. The reason i ask is im seeing someone sell keyfob cases here on this forum, however i dont like the look of it. I am thinking of using clear heat shrink tubing. What size of heat shrink tube would i need to slip over the key fob ? Im thinking a 2" diameter may work.
Anyone know or thought about protecting their fob this way ?

i would say 2 1/2" x 1" x 1/2". i honestly don't think there is any need to protect it. i put mine in a pocket without change or other keys. it never needs to come out, so there is no chance of dropping it.

Those covers look good and work great, for $5 how can you go wrong?

I ordered a set from Terry when I first got the car. However, I only use one of them and its on the second keyfob, since I decided that I needed something that was easier to distinguish the buttons while its in my pocket for the one I carry. I bought one of these and haven't had any problems since I just feel for the first gap with my thumb on the fob while its in my pocket to lock the car as I'm walking away. Couldn't really do that without having to look at the buttons with the other one.

I agree with speedracerg35, my fob gets its own pocket and it never comes out. Also, I lock my doors with the handle button (I prefer the beep to the horn anyway). No need for a fob cover in my opinion.

That's nice. I ordered mine from Terry and it's been great, but I've never seen that jacket before.

Haha, I don't pull mine out to look at the buttons. gmlee86 is just a n00b. hahaahha jk, I just feel for the Infiniti logo and then feel my way up to the correct button.

Yeh for reals it doesn't take a lot of effort.. After a few times you've got the hang of it, no problem. It's not as if your punching in a Nintendo code: Lock, Unlock, Unlock, Lock, Trunk, Panic, Panic, Trunk, Lock.. That might be a problem LOL!

That would be awesome. They should change the keyfob to a mini old school Nintendo controller instead
