I did the same thing back in 04 when I first took delivery of my G35. Slid into a curb during a snow storm.....
At the time the dealership wanted $935 for a new rim. So, I had a repair place by me that fixes rims for the dealership repair it in less than 3hrs. for $125
Before and after pics attached......The repaired spot is on the bottom of the rim in the last two pics......

Probably, because your other cars did not come with 19" factory wheels. Wow, I cannot believe you would rather replace then repair. The stealership should have talked you out of buying a new rim.
BTW, did you get clearbra on your new car?

No actually the name really doesn't fit, well maybe. Ha Ha. I am reading all your feedback and I will keep the old rim and get it fixed. But just couldn't believe that I did it in the first place. I have never did this before on my other cars so I couldn't believe I did it on my G of all cars.

The easiest thing in the world to do is to repair wheels. You don't have the challenges of trying to blend in color like you do when you have body damage. I go the the Ole Wheel Shop, and they can make the wheel look not only good but perfect, and I'm confidant that there are many other shops that can do the same.

Are you talking about Ye Olde Wheel Shop in MD? If so, they are overpriced and inconvenient.

Ditto
I was cut off in a parking lot and had to swing hard right to avoid the stupid teenage girl talking on her cell phone, clipping the corner of a curb in the process. Not as much damage, just a small scrape on the rim. I didn't have to replace the rim, but it's still aggravating!

After eventually curbing all four rims on the last two Acura's I've owned, I've been super careful with my G37. Up until last Friday, I'd been successful.
Being a "parking ****", I always scope out the best parking spots. At the office there are a few of covered spots (under-building parking). A few are in dual bays, so you only have one side of the car exposed to another car's door.
So I'm backing into one of these treasured spots on Friday, ever conscious of not hitting the three inch raised curb. I like to snug up against it so as to give the car in the spot next to me plenty of room.
Anyway, I expertly back into the spot (with the aid of the back-up camera) and end-up about three inches from the curb. Perfect right?
Well actually, no. Seems when my dumb *** decided to turn the front wheels to the right (I don't know why), I scratched the front rim!!!! What an oaf!
Oh well, scratch (pun intended) one up to experience.
Between the paint chips on the front end, and the three massive pits in the windshield, I wonder if I shouldn't just back the thing into a tree and get it over with.
Why is it so hard to keep a car in perfect condition?
