Complaints/Negatives about the G37

Im about to get myself one, wondering if you guys have any complaints/negatives, such as certain parts in the car making noise, things not working, etc. If you do, please explain.

Leather could be better. I like BMW's leather. Very duable with no wrinkles. Infiniti on the other hand creates wrinkles from day 1.

I actually like Infiniti leather much more than the BMWs... Their leather is somewhat cheap and the seats aren't as comfy...my 2 cents

I've gotten my first rattle after 11,000 miles. It's coming from somewhere in the gauge cluster. Happens only when it's really cold outside and goes away after it warms up. Also, noticed my exhaust rattles like crazy when the car is warming up in the cold. There is also the infamous seatbelt rattle. Other than that, the car has been golden. Huge improvements over the G35C in almost every single way.

My biggest complaint would be the stiff ride. I know its not a Cadi but always had a bumpy ride with the Coupes. Also the doors don't auto lock or unlock when you park your car which is very annoying. Other than that, I love it.

I would say the startup noises annoy me the most. I had the muffler replaced, but the other noises are still around. Next after that would be the tranny whine, mild but still there. In my opinion, I think the transmission is too weak for this engine. I would say the parts should be bolstered to take more spirited driving. Windows occasionaly make a moan when going up or down after a rainy day. The rattles haven't popped up yet. I am coming from an often rattling 2004 Accord V6, so this car is very quiet in comparison. I'm still happy with my purchase (lease)...

I've never owned a coupe before so the G37 may be typical, but the rearview from the driver's seat sucks for parking (you can't see anything).

Also, the car is a bit too wide, downtown parking garages don't give much width space (they're trying to cram in as many spots as possible). This isn't a big issue, but the rearview is IMO.

Hehe, that's why having the rear view camera is nice. I do agree with the view out the back (sucks in comparison to my Accord), but it's a coupe...what do u expect?

My biggest complaint is that the doors don't auto-lock, otherwise, it is a superb vehicle.

Auto transmission should have been a 6 speed. I've got pretty bad rattles in my door panel during even low-mid level music. Going to have the dealer fix it eventually. Pretty minor stuff, over all its been an awesome car.

+1 I was expecting a 6AT since most of the MB are 7-speed now.

yea, you would think a 40k car would auto lock itself.. the exhaust rattles when its cold after startup. its hard to see out your blind side. there is a lag when you "try" to floor the car...other than that, the car is freaking awesome! also, the paint sucks, already have a few rock chips. noooo!

I only have a 1,000 miles, no rattles yet.
Here are my complaints:
1. location of side mirrors control is not ideal.
2. the Homelink button not illuminated at night, so you have to feel for it.
3. Smaller trunk space than my G35C, I have to remove my #1 Driver in order to fit in the trunk.

My only complaint is that when lowering the front windows for a few days after washing the car or a rain, they have water on the outside after raising them. I am not sure if some water leaks down past the outer gasket and takes a few days to evaporate or if the gasket retains the water for a few days. In either event, I have to clean the outside each time after lowering and raising the windows for a few days after washing or a rain. Since I have to lower the front driver's window to access the parking gate control where I work, this has become a slight annoyance.
