G37 as my performance car?????

Ok dudes,

I am selling my S2000 because i am just too big for it - i tried - but its TIGHT in that thing and i want something more comfy.

With that said, i am lookin at MANY options and the G37 keeps popping up on the list but i am worried that the G is too much of a GT car and not pure sports car for me (i have a daily so this is just a fun car).

Any opinions on that? Am i dead wrong or should i look elsewhere for my sports car fix? Are their mods out there (or coming soon) that will make the G more agressive/faster/nimbler/etc?

Thanks,

Jon

Kinda what i was thinking. I dont want to get one and then find myself driving it more like a daily than my daily LMAO.

I am looking into the Caymans...they seem like a fun little car (hopefully not too little) to toss around. Also like the GTR (obviously) but am concerned about the price over MSRP and the service (Nissan dealerships FTL!)

Thanks for your opinion.

G37 is a blast to drive fast in the twisty stuff, but it sounds like you are looking more for a pure track car and in that case I would stick with the 2-seaters. Cayman is a nice option if you want to move away from the Honda. 370Z, Boxter S, GT-R (I want one too, so get in line!)

Get the 370z that is the ultimate comfier alternative to the s2k....it will be a strng car with 300+ HP....more torque throught the band compared to the s2k and handles more nimble like a sports car should...and u cant beat the price on it....

I love my G but it is definitely no S2000 in terms of sports cars. I think an Evo would be fun.....

Also I hate to say it the 335i is a great fast car and the aftermarket is really starting to take off and putting up some real good numbers too!

Why is everyone mentioning the 370Z? I thought that wasn't coming out until 2011... are there any new developments? (b/c I think by 2011, they better have a 380z and it should be 360+ hp to stay competitive)

335i is a great car - but similar in size/style to the G37 + about 10 grand!

or the new ZR-1. That will kick some serious boot when launched.

We need more dreamy posts like this one. I want to go out and buy another ride now!

It looks like you are looking for something that has sports car like nimble handling. In the straight line the G will satisfy compared to the S2K. The handling on the G is great but it will not feel like your S2k. It is a different kind of feel although still quite capable.
The Z is a nice alternative for something bigger than the S2K and yet tossable because of its shorter wheel base.
But make no mistake, the G was built primarily to be a daily driver.

I think you can make the G into a track car... she'll be mighty mean if you take some lbs off of her!
