Hahaha, sorry to hear that but haha it's funny that the squirrels are using your $40K+ G to store their acorns. But yea I'd park it somewhere else for a while.

I bet you anything they're chipmunks, not squirrels. Only a chipmunk could get into such small places. Alvin, Simon and Theodore must be out singing Christmas Carols then hiding their keep in your car!

Look for a bulge in the insulation, you might have a nest in there.
What may work, if you have a power outlet somewhere near the car, is an ultrasonic pest repeller.
If no outlet is available, you could get a small power inverter, and run it off your 12v power outlet in the car.

Here are a few links from Google about the problem.
http://unexco.com/SQ1.html
http://www.pitelspot.com/index.php/2...rodent-damage/
http://nz.answers.yahoo.com/question...3160040AAB0vfJ
The only answer appears to be either trapping, or this - http://www.critter-repellent.com/squ...or-vehicle.php (fox urine granules)

It's field mice, the gray stuff is the insulation from under the hood, check your air cleaner for the same signs.

You guys may be right... im not 100% convinced the culprit is a squirrel. I guessed squirrels because they were collecting acorns (really small ones however) but I suppose other animals eat (and store?) acorns as well.
The mice idea has me worried however... in the past 2 weeks I trapped 3 mice in my house (living behind the refridgerator).
What a pain in the ***!
