oem spolier few quick questions

hey guys

is the spoiler(not chrome piece) bolted on by screws or 3m tape?

my dealer called in today and they told me that my spolier came in, but i dont want them installing the spoiler, i want to do it myself, is it possible? and if i do get it installed, will i able to take the spoiler off in the future or is it on permently?

thanks alot

I am pretty sure it's bolted down. Meaning that if you take it off later, there will be holes as a result.

From the service manual it appears that both the chrome piece and spoiler should be mounted by bolts via the same holes.
It also seems that the spoiler uses doublesided tape on the edge facing the front of the car, but not sure about the chrome piece...

So, are dealers actually starting to get the OEM spoilers in stock now? My dealer told me it would be January before I could get mine, but then again they're not a "huge" Infiniti dealership.

the chrome piece comes off and the other bolts in it's place, and i believe there is some sort of adhesive also.

unless it's the aftermarket spoiler.. (probably what they got you) then i think they drill new holes

I could see a lot of money to be made from someone producing a color match replacement peice for the chrome piece. Or perhaps simple replacing the chrome piece with a 3rd brake light custom filtted within a color matched housing where the chrome piece goes.

Can you still get the backup camera in the body colored spoiler, or does it have to be the chrome spoiler?

The spoiler I have in my hands is for with the back up camera...

The spoiler comes on its own...

You would still need to purchase the 3rd brake light and possibly a new backup camera if the original does not fit...

Ill be uploading the pictures shortly... havent had a chance to yet sorry...

Ok... This is what you get when you order the current spoiler part number...

It also includes some seals which are not seen in these photos... It basicly goes around the base of the spoiler to keep water from going under... A weatherstrip...

One would also have to purchase the 3rd brake light to go into the spoiler...

Pricing MSRP: (PM me for better pricing if interested)

Spoiler w/ Camera Hole: $397.38
Spoiler w/o Camera Hole: $397.38
Spoiler Stop Lamp: $161.43
Clips / Grommets / Needed for install: $30 roughly
Camera (Specific for Spoiler)((Original camera may work, but modification will be required)): $436.11
