====> New Guy!!

Hey guys! Just became active and wanted to say hello!!

Also I just put on my snowshoes and noticed that the caliper to wheel spoke clearance is about 1/16th of an inch and a tiny bit less at the caliper's "fattest" point. Is that dangerous and should I worry? I thought that the wheel clearance would have been more. Tirerack, where I bought the wheels from, said it's okay and so does the tire place that I use to swap my wheels/tires. They both said just keep the bolts tightened. Like I was going to loosen them up or something stupid like that!!!!!

The snowshoes are 18inch MSW Type 12's(designed by O.Z....who knew??) with Bridgestone Blizzak LM25's and TPMS(which hasn't been working well since the temps dropped, the warning light is always on now.). Kind of ugly to me, but I care more about not sliding around too much in the snow/ice....and they were the cheapest set available from Tirerack at the time I ordered them.

What wheel and rim combo is that? Glad to see one with the winter tires on it. And welcome!

first, thanks for posting pics! second congrats and welcome!! she looks just like mine! To be honest if tirerack says its ok -i'd believe them. they take in all the acrs and fit them before endorsing it. thats they're primary job -to fit and test cars and recomending the best fit.

can i ask how much the whole set-up was?

also, if you do a search, there are a couple threads that talk about just this with images as well.

goodluck and let us know how she does in the snow! where do you live by the way?

Looks great and you got plenty of clearance. Just don't get caught in a freezing rain storm and let it sit and ice up. You will be "shaving" ice if that happens!! Woot!

Tire Rack translation: be glad there's any 18" wheels that fit the Sport option!

$1700 shipping and all for the winter setup.

I was considering this winter setup as well (minus the TPMS), but eventually settled for hte ASA JH3's instead.

One note - The wheels come in a machined / black accent version for the same price. For some reason it doesn't appear under the available wintersetups for the G, but if u browse the rims manually you will see it.
