G37 Sales Doing Well

According to NissanNews, the G Coupe sales for November are up 73% over last November. It looks like the G37 is doing very well so far.

I keep seeing all these reports about how well sales are doing yet it does not seem like there are that many G37's on the road. But the thing is most figures are compairing this year to last year. the 07 coupes were not selling like hot cakes....

Why are there so many reports of dealerships dropping their prices?

because while the car is selling better then the 07 coupes were the new car is not selling as hot as the 35 was when it was first released. I cant speak for everywhere but here in south florida our dealers have loads of 37's sitting on the lot. every color every option.

This also accounts for the G35 coupe sales as well. That's why I don't like the report that Infiniti gives since it is a little deceiving. I wonder how many G37 sales they have compared to the 07 G35. I know the dealership were I live has been selling a lot of last year G35 but not very many G37 because of the price. I think they have sold 5 maybe...

+1. I'm actually kinda surprised. I've only seen 2 other G37s in Atlanta. (and one i think was a test drive because it was very close to dealer and didn't have a new car plate on it).

Sales of the car will pick up greatly in the spring, when higher performace sports cars generally sell. A good part of the country is now dealing with snow and ice, so a 330hp RWD coupe is the last thing on people's minds to purchase right now. It was released at a rather odd time off year- if it had been released in spring, I'm sure it would have been a huge seller immediately- people would have had all summer to enjoy it.

According to a USA Today article on the G37, Nissan's goal was 2200 units per month. I've only seen two on the road here in the Tampa Bay area (no snow to worry about here) so far. And the nissannews report does not differentiate between the 35 and 37 which is ridiculous since they are totally different models in my book. Dealers are still selling G35's.

Um if anything, more people buy there cars from September to December. One, to take advantage of last years models at a discount, and two as a "Holiday" present. Yes down here in South Florida there are A LOT of G37s but according to two dealers, they are selling at least two a day and 4 a day on the weekends. Even if you don't "see" a lot of 37s just think how often it is that you see even a G35 Coupe! More so just think how many millions of cars are in the US, 2200 of 100 million.. Not to mention a good 85%+ of the population cannot even afford this car!! I for one hope the sales are down, I enjoy having a car that few people have and many have never seen on the road before!! Enjoy it while we can!!

I am not sure you can compare sales with the 2007 G35, at this point people knew that the G37 would be coming out and probably held back on buying the G35. I really don't think its selling as well as they anticipated, not because of the car, but because of the economy as a whole. It's apparent because they already have a APR special. When I bought my 05 G35 coupe in the December I got an good deal with no special APR. I am definitely debating on getting one, the only problem......... I am getting married next year and those damn things cost so much money! I love the G37, I hope these deals stick around, or else i might just hold out for a S5 or M3 (or GT-R if it's cheaper) in 09.

sorry for the bad english I need to replace "I got an good deal" with "I got a good deal" and "in the December" with "in December".

I do think the weather plays a role as well, but I think the condition of the market just plays a bigger role.

I've never seen a single G37 in Las Vegas and I see more up-market cars here than I did in LA. I really get the feeling that they're not selling well, which is good for me. I get to pay invoice (had to buy out of state) and have an uncommon ride!

Also, I've read that Dec is a very slow month for dealerships, despite the potential Xmas gift factor. Carbuyingtips.com/ corroborates this.
