Mine will have Vredestein (sp?) brand snow tires on it. I have been told they are very good for snow and ice.

DO NOT DRIVE IN THE SNOW WITH STOCK SUMMER TIRES. I tried putting sand bags in my trunk the first winter with my 04, and no help at all. The extra weight just makes it harder to stop.

DetroitJoe - Trust me man, I live near you and its not worth it. Even when they plow your neighborhood you can't get traction on the compacted snow. its all about the tires. I got around just fine with 17'' Dunlop Sport M3 tire/wheel setup the past 2 years.

I just got my G37 on Saturday, and in the process of looking for a winter setup. Its better to get smaller wheels (18 rather than 19) and thinner tires to cut through the snow. Don't get brave and try to drive on the stocks. You will end up in the ditch next to the girl with SUV who was on the phone and putting on make-up in blizzard.

But just think...you and that chick could huddle togething in your G or her SUV until you get rescued. Remember that you both will need to take of your clothes and huddle together to keep warm... lol

I took my G out on friday after a small winter blast on thursday. The streets looked fine and dandy so i took her out for a drive to the mall. well when i pulled up to the mall parking lot -the leftover snow from when they plow was so compact and tight that it was almost solid ice. so when i pulled in at 10mph my car lost all regard for traction. The slip light began to blink eratically like an emergency light on a space shuttle launch and it was sidewinding like the 350z in fast and the furious: tokyo drift (but in slow motion offcourse)..

needless to say the G slid gracefully in the open parking lot for about 15 feet or so -atleast i'll give the G this much... even while losing all control in the snow and having no traction, it did it in such a way that was still stylish and sexy...-lol

i know...i know

I drove an IS 300 with summer tires and weight in the trunk....once! I would not even think about unless I had snow tires, then I would only think about it. It is like everything else though, it depends on the driver, but I would only do it if I had too. I got a 4X4 for the snow stuff. I used to have this:

I live in far SW Virginia. I will drive the G in the winter, just not when it snows. You have to be aware of the summer tires though, They get "hard" in cold temperatures. I did by snow tires for the Evo, the summer tires were horrible in the winter (felt like flintstones in the cold). Oddly, our last few winters have been extremely mild and I hope the trend continues.
