Interesting that they have the performance ogf the G rated ahead of the 3 series. But that must include a collective rating of all of the 3 series cars.

I'd like to know more about the weighting. On an even weighting the Acura comes out to 8.4. Heck the G37 does is not even rated in 2 catagories so how did that work. I own an A4 and I can tell you the car is in no way on equal footing with the G. An 8.4 for performance, the A4 can barely get out of its own way.

You can omit the Lexus and Audi since they're not available in coupes which puts the G second to the 3-series. Something that's already widely known. I'm putting the G first because of $$'s. $10k difference is just too much to ignore.

The # 3's should all be 2's and the Lexus ES kicked off the list...The ES is just an upscale Camry and it's not fun to drive and feels like a boat....it should not be compared to the 3 series, G, Lexus IS, etc. in my opinion....The ES is just entry level luxury but not performance driven at all...

I owned an E46 from '01 to '04. Never had one single problem and all maintenance was covered by BMW. Even when I brought up the "sticky pedal" problem, they didn't flinch and replaced it no questions asked.
My M35x on the other hand had to have the steering assembly replaced and it took the dealer 3 trips to figure it out. They nearly hit the lemon law.

Hi guys,
I work for the U.S.News website. All your comments are very interesting and where possible I'd like to answer your questions. First off, we are still gathering data on the 2008 G37, so it may be a few weeks till we have a complete ranking of the G37. Secondly, I can't tell you how we do our weighting, but if you take a look at the page below you can get a better understanding on how the scores were generated.
