More power for 2009?

Nissan has a pretty good track record at upping the ante in second model years:

Nissan altima 2002 240Hp, Altima 03 250hp 5
Nissan maxima 03 250hp, 04 255hp,
G35 03 260, 04 280, 05-08 297/306.
Nissan titan 06 306hp, 07 315hp

I am looking to buy in the spring, wondering if I should wait for an 09

340hp?

imo, you should just buy now. every year will have a better car that comes and if you wait, you will wait forever for that perfect car. just enjoy it now, life is too short. if it does go up in hp, it probably wont be that much anyways.

It is normally 2 years before a car gains HP. The 03 G35 had 280 HP not 260. The Sedan had 260 in both 03 and 04.
Each year those cars put on a little more weight as well and somewhat negated the hp gains. Thus the 297 HP version of the G35 was not much faster than the 280 HP version. In fact 0-60 times were 2 tenths less (based on the quicketst reluts posted for both cars)and 1/4 mile results were only marginally quicker.

I think it wont even be detectable on the butt-dyno. Most say the G37 feels as fast as their prior G35, And that's with about 30+hp... I don't think 5-10 more will make any bigger of a difference. What I would like to see is those TQ be up to par with the HP numbers. That would make this thing a blast.. or give us more TQ if not full TQ down lower in the rpm range like the 335i. But I highly doubt this...

I'd much rather be cruisin in a fresh newly designed ride a year or two before those people who waited for a measly 15-20 hp.

How about 1000HP to round it off!!! And maybe the dealers should throw in some jet fuel as incentives

Anyways, I don't think we will see any change to the engine next year at all. We already got the VQ on this year's model. Why would Infiniti upgrade the engine after a year?

I doubt the hp numbers will go up until they have their mid-cycle refresh.
