Questions for Owners

For those of you that own the g37 and have the nav pkg, I have a couple of questions:

1) Can you rip an mp3 cd to the hard drive?
2) Can you store video's on the hard drive?
3) Where the hell do you fit your ipod?!?!? I have a treo, so the bluetooth sucks the battery life, and If I have the car charger plugged in, and ipod...there is no room for anything else!

thats all for now, but im sure there are more to come....

1. No, you can only rip CDs to the hard drive.
2. No, not that I'm aware of.
3. The iPod connects to a dedicated connector, that feeds audio to the stereo and powers the iPod. You'll still have an outlet for your treo

If you're referring to space for both in the console, you might have to use a cup holder for the Treo. I keep my phone in the cup holder and the iPod in the console. (in the AT it's a different cup holder setup than in the 6MT).

Hope this helps

1) No. However, it will of course play an mp3 cd (so says the manual). I haven't tried yet. You can always do flashcard for mp3, or burn it as an audio CD and rip it that way.

2) No.

3) On the 6mt, you can store in the center console. See these very bad pics:

Unfortunately, your dealer is FOS. MP3 CDs cannot be ripped to the HD.

Sounds like a DRM thing.

That's what the current theory is. It kind of sucks. But between ripping audio CDs, playing off the flash card, and the IPOD integration, there's little room to complain.

I put velcro on ipod case and stuck it underneath the consol cover. It keeps the iPOD out of the way so you can put more in the consol but you still have to deal with cable...but a pretty good solution.
