Actually, I am still waiting for mine. So, I have no disappointments. All I am saying is that if you don't like how a car performs, don't buy it. To buy anything and then complain afterwards only means you did not do your research and you are an ill-informed consumer. I do not have any sympathy for people who buy something without checking it out and then complain about it afterwards.

Actually, I have no regrets. I love the car. HOWEVER, I am worried that maybe there is something wrong with mine. Which is why I posted the question in the first place.

How 'bout you get your car first, drive it a little, and then maybe your replies will have actual added value.

To reset the ECU, just disconnect the battery for like 2 minutes. Then bam shes good.

Thanks for the suggestion. But, seeing as how your post says you have 300 miles on your car, unless you have a fair mount of seat time in other 6MT G37's, I probably have more miles in the car than you. (Just because my personal car is on its way does not mean I have not spent a fair amount of time driving them.)

I don't have time to look for the thread but there is a way to do it with out disconnecting the bat. If you disconect the bat you will loose stuff stored in your nav system or preferances or something like that. I don't have my car yet but i remember reading this I think it would be worth while to do a search.

get in car, close doors
turn to ON (foot off brake)
wait three seconds
fully press and release gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds (don't do this too hastily though)
wait 7 seconds
fully depress gas and hold for 10 seconds (at the end of this, your SEL light should start blinking, if not START OVER)
release gas
wait 10 seconds
fully depress gas and hold for 11 seconds (just to be sure)
release gas
start car
drive

i usually do this procedure two or three times in a row to make sure i'm satisfied that i've reset the ECU. only because there's no idiot light that says, "hey, you've reset the ECU".

Resets your ECU without having to unplug your battery and losing all your settings. People do this after installing mods or if they want the car to relearn their driving habits among other reasons...

AHH, that's it. so it will re learn my driving habits without the gentler break in driving bring down the average.

You couldn't be more WRONG. I own an '07 G Sedan 6M/T, however I'm not stupid enough to expect the car to be a torque monster BELOW 2K. Was the "270 ft-lbs @ 5200 rpm" rating on the window sticker not descriptive enough for you?

Every car has its advantages and disadvantages. To say that we're just G37 fanboys shows how ignorant you are. I'm not whining about the V36 Coupe's lack of low end torque at all. I knew going in that my Sedan wasn't going to be a torque monster and to make sure that I would be able to live without stump pulling torque I went ahead and test drove an '06 Goat just to make sure the G was what I wanted. As addictive as the Goat was, the build quality wasn't on par with that of the G. So then I checked out the 335i Coupe which I loved, however I wanted a 4 door and while the E92 is a looker, the E90 looks like ***. As for the IS350? No stick shift = no sale.

So yeah, to call me a G37 fanboy is a pretty ignorant statement to make. Just because I work at Infiniti and love our products, it doesn't mean that I'm a mindless fanboy who only buys in house "just because." Believe me when I say that I bought my car because it's what I WANTED.

With regards to your complaints about the V36 Coupes lack of bottom end pull, I just find it odd that you'd complain about such a thing when any INFORMED customer would know that the car isn't going to be a stump puller like say a 335i. To me, your whining about your car's lack of bottom end pull is like a Lexus owner complaining about his soft suspension. It just seems to me that you should have known from the get go that the G isn't known for obnoxious bottom end pull like a 335i.

Now what exactly makes you think this works on the G37?

This worked on the G35 coupes, but youre quite quick to jump the gun and assume it works on the 37?


To reset the ECU, simply disconnect the negative on the battery, and leave it off overnight.

Good to hear that you are enjoying the car. Personally I look at track times for stats and fun rather than to see who can out-perform whom, so I wouldn't mind if you posted your times. If we have enough people, sure there can be some friendly rivalry, but at this point I would not expect that since most people are still breaking-in their cars and likely have never tracked their car before.

With the G being so new, it's more about hearing track experiences and learning what makes the G go. The first person to post their track times here did seem to be slower due to break-in period. One may surmise that the OP is probably experiencing that at the moment. Hopefully, most of us realize this and not take things too seriously.
