Why is the G37 so heavy?
I mean the darn thing weighs 3750 lbs. The BMW 335 which looks bigger inside to me weighs 3570 lbs , and the Nissan Altima coupe which seems about the same inside weighs 3200. What is making this car so damn heavy?

My guess:
If you have many little motors for almost anything, they add up! Features that use motors:
Also look at how the chassis is built, the glazing on the glass, the motor itself, the 19"wheels, any additional components for 4WAS, the electronics which includes an HDD, the cowhide for the leather is heavier than cloth seats, the rear spare tire..what else?

My 04 330Ci weighs 3285 fully loaded
The weights are high. A lot of the weight gain is probably due to the tech stuff in them. As horsepower and torque go up so should the strength of various components. TPMS is gonna add a little weight. It all adds up and because of competition between manufacturers there's a constant pressure to keep adding more stuff, more horsepower, more room, more safety etc. etc.

well, as far as I know the 335 has all that...
the true reason is cost.
It cost money for forge wheels instead of cast..
It cost money for light weight material like the magnesium alloy for the engine components and stuffs...
High strength light weight steel costs more...
So they use cheaper materials...
What disappoints me the most is the large bump in pricing...
$41000 MSRP for a fully loaded 07 G35C
$43200 MSRP for a similarly equipped 08 G37
The G35 sold well, so they may just think, hey, we'll just raise the price, while find ways to cheapen the cost to build so we make more profit, and I bet them customers will still come!!
Anyway, it's old news...

It's not even like I am comparing this car to the G35. I was not even in the sports coupe market when the G35 was being sold. I have however owned 3 cars with Nissan V-6's, back in 97' I thought my 190 hp maxima flew! I figured the 330 3.7 would be a rocket but its got alot more weigh to pull around than I thought it would. I hear everyones comments and they make sense, but I mean this car weighs as much as the sedan, thats just nutz! It almost seems like they stuck counter weights in the trunk to balance off the handling lol

Counter-weights, lol!
Seriously, cars are all getting heavier. Especially Luxury GTs like the G37. Check out the weight on the new M3. The difference there is our $40k doesn't buy us $60k engine power, so, we get a lot of the same amenities but not as high performance. I think it's reasonable balance. My G37 is plenty fast enough that I would certainly not trade dollars nor amenities to make it faster.
I think a good portion of the G37 weight is also sound-deadening that the G35 was lacking.

Think of all the stuff you can get on the G37 that you couldn't get on the G35 like the HDD, ipod interface, adaptive headlights, ICC, reverse camera etc...
Then think about how much more the base G37 offers over the base G35 Coupe and you'll see what I'm talking about. 3.7L VVEL HR motor vs. the non rev-up and rev-up engines. Standard 18" wheels instead of standard 17s. With the sport package you get much larger and more effective brakes than you did with the first gens, especially the post-Brembo cars.
With all the improvemens Nissan/Infiniti has made to the V36/2nd gen G Coupe, the slightly higher price point is very fair and still very attractive compared with the competition. The car's price still undercuts the offerings from Infiniti's major competitors by a few thousand dollars.
As for the curb weight issue, well...there's an area that I wish Nissan/Infiniti would have invested a bit more time and money into.
