5AT Real Track Times

I ran at the Track yesterday with no modifications to get a baseline to work off of. Here were my results.

1st Run (ran using the sport shifter manually)

R/T...0.890
60'....2.292
330...6.296
1/8...9.501
MPH..75.94
1000..12.242
1/4...14.598
MPH..95.14

2nd Run (ran letting the Sport shifter redline on its own)

R/T...0.307
60'....2.237
330...6.148
1/8...9.321
MPH..76.80
1000..12.034
1/4...14.305
MPH...99.62 and beat an 8th gen Mustang GT by .1247

With a lower reaction time I could possibly hit the 13's.

Oh and by the way, I was beat by an '07 350Z stock who ran about a 1/2 sec faster. (high 13's)

Nice! What were the ambient conditions? Was your break-in period over?
EDIT: How much gas was in your tank? Was the 350Z AT or MT?

I had about 3/4 tank, just rained about 2 hours before going on track but I turned VDC off and still no spinning. I did a hard break in and I just broke 1000 miles. I changed my oil at 700 miles. The 350z was a MT with 306hp stock but he weighs a lot less considering no back seat.

huh?

Not to rain on your parade and I appreciate you posting your results, but to what magazine times are you referring. I haven't seen anything over 14.1 in the quarter or with a trap speed less than 103 MPH... or am I missing something

On another note- if the 08 is like the previous gen, 3000 miles is about where it opens up the most after break-in and at that time it may be good to do an ECU reset, take it to the track then and see what it i'll do.

I will be getting it tuned soon to see what kind of power I can get out of it. But prob after i get a cold air intake. I just wanted to get a baseline.

Also, I wasn't able to get off the line as soon as I wanted due to the AT. And the 6mt is definitely more fun at the track.

uhhh...wat track factors in reaction time?

sorry but ur reaction time has nothing to do with ur 1/4 time...work on ur 60' and ur trap is pretty low

btw, wat mag times did u beat? most mags got hi 13s low 14s

Reaction time is separate from elapsed time.

EDIT: NAM beat me to it.

You're ET is your total time minus your reaction time, so your reaction time is just kinda for your own reference. Is this right? If so, 14.3 seems a bit slow IMO.

Get that 60' to 2.0 or lower and you'll see 13s.3

The first run I just floored it. The second one I braked and accelerated to about 2k rpm at the same time then released brake and floored it at the same time.

I have never heard of reaction time not having anything to do with you total time.

Same here. I very seldom ever took my old cars to the track, but when I did it was all about jumping the light and reaction time was definitely factored into ET. Was the whole point of getting the best slicks you could, and timing your launch at the green.

Though from a "what can the car do, not the driver" aspect it's cool. Between 2 drivers (especially with a stick), the same car can turn in vastly different times based on their ability to launch.
