Parking Brake "Break In" procedure.

Did you guys read that you are supposed to break in your PARKING BRAKE in the manual? You are supposed to use the parking brake to slow to a stop a few times to mate the SEPARATE parking brake shoes to the drum.

It is supposed to stop that GROAN you hear as the car settles when using the parking brake. Supposed to make the parking brakes hold much stronger.

Is that for the 6MT or does that go for the AT as well?

I don't think it specified. But Since all the parking brake systems are the same in general (drum+shoes), it would be pretty universal.

You should probably do this occasionally since the brakes are never really USED, the car is sitting still when you put them on usually. Rusty brakes squeal and don't work very well.
