The salesman did not know what it was for at delivery time - it looks like a pedal cover of sorts? Anyone know? I am going to RTFM on the train on the way to work, maybe it's in there
It is indeed for the front grill, to cover the ICC port. My sales lady had told me at first it was for a tow hook possibly, for I'm pretty sure it's the ICC.
It should have been re-installed over the tie down hook in front of the car which was used during shipping.
+1 a friend of mine bought the IP and they did not put his back on, he says it was a b!tch to put back on.
When i took delivery, i made sure it was on
It is in fact used to cover the tow hook in the lower center messhh at the front of the car.
so what's the morale of this story?? if you have to get your car towed you should become familiar with how to remove and install that little piece or a guy named leroy or bubba who drives a dirty ole car eatin' tow truck is gonna do it for ya.. and who knows what else he's going to take off in the process.
... I think i'll learn how to pop this thing on and off on my own!
I knew instantly what it was from having inspected the car very closely and noticing the hole in the front grill with the same receiver for the hook behind it that my 350Z had. My wife found the cover in the glove box. I snapped it right in.
