I don't believe that it is ever a good idea to settle for something less than you want, so I would wait. However, in the end it is your decision, if you really want the Ivory Pearl, then I would wait, but if you think you would be just as happy with the Black Obsidian, then I say go for it. yeah, your right..I want the IP bad, all my previous cars have been pearl white. I just need the car now lol, Im tired of borrowing my girlfriends car all the time and waking up 3 hrs earlier to drop her off at work,school, etc. Black is my second choice if anything, but I think Im going to wait 2 more weeks to see how things go. Crossing my fingers!!!

I sense there is enough gap between your 1st and 2nd choice, so go with what your heart beckons. IP is not a rare color to get, it will come ... be patient.

 

UPDATE- 9/1/07

so my salesman calls me and tells me theirs some bad news, all the IP's he try to get a hold of are sold, he has one IP automatic but i want a 6MT. He's now telling me that my car will be here in November?!?!? I am very upset because by the time i get the car, it will be snowing! Now he's trying to persuade me to go with BO or Athens blue but even those 2 colors will arrive sometime in October...Is there anyone out there that can help me or let me know if theres any dealers in the NorthEast that can get me a Sport IP 6MT with navigation/premium package. Let me know, I really dont wanna wait until November. Thanks


by the way, I live in Rochester,NY(upstate near buffalo) and my hometown dealer cant help me and my salesman who works in Syracuse is saying November

And you stated that dealer is hinting you to buy the black one, maybe he pushed back your date so he thinks he will have a better chance of buying the black one. So maybe if you stick with your IP it will come in on time and he was bluffing.

^^ I would wait and make sure you get what you want. It appears the orders and allocations will be very lean for several months. I feel very fortunate at this point and I can tell you it is worth the wait.

 

thanks for the advice guys! yeah man Im pretty bummed about the whole car situation, like i stated above, Im just sick and tired of borrowing peoples cars and depending on rides etc. I got till tuesday to let him know whats my decision. My salesman is really cool and blunt, I take his word and he's helping me as much as I can...I knew I should have put my deposit down sooner. lol

 

Hey Wicked, I would recommend checking out a couple other dealers and ask them if they can get you the IP by a certain date. Not all Infiniti dealerships are selling out of these cars so they can trade for them. I had issues with the dealership I was going through telling me my car was going to be here in October. I contacted another dealer and they told me the first week of Sept they had one they could trade for that was coming off the boat. I told my original dealer this and now they tell me they will have my car the sometime this week. Dealers lie...remember that.

I feel your pain, I am mid Oct for mine too and up here in Albera Canada it will be winter but with a set of alpin piots it will be all good

 

^you plan on driving your G in the winter? i did that with my last G35 and use to be so scared to go anywhere. Im not letting this car touch the rain or snow.

 

Not much of an option up here for me the only thing i will do is not let the wife drive it the 300 km a day to here work I only drive 20 km so it is not that bad. She will drive my 03 maxima. The traction control is pretty good and she is used to it. Plus out here it is too cold for salt to work on the roads so corrosion is not an issue but rock picks are that is why I am getting the 3M coating fo rthr front bumper, 1/2 hood, mirrors, and door handels cups.
