I've received tons of compliments since the 2 weeks I owned the G. So far the best one was at the 24 Hr Fitness parking lot where a middle-aged guy approached me and asked "Is that the new G? Damn looks so nice!"
Another one was actually last night. I was on the 91 freeway and a Ferrari F430 driver gave me a thumbs up. Brand new, no plates yet.

Definitely received several "gawking" stares... One guy almost wrecked his Honda Accord rubber necking...some teenager tried to chase me down in a Dodge Charger R/T... and also had to deal with an adolescent in a Chevy Impala...whats up with these kids wanting to race all the time.
Best one of all came from a (most of been) 10 year old kid. I was driving to the office through a residential neighborhood. Had the windows down and as I passed a group of kids waiting for their school bus he yells, "Look at that Ferrari!!".... kids are cute.

That's awesome to hear, I think in my neck of the woods most people think it looks very similar to the G35 so it's not a huge departure from what's already out there.
It's hard to determine if rubbernecking right now is because the car looks nice or because the car just came out. If in 2-3 years people are still looking at your car, then you know that people are admiring the looks of it. This is the current effect of the G35 Coupe which has been out for 5 years already. I still get compliments on the car now.
As for the other end of the spectrum, I had so many looks when I first test drove the Altima Coupe as well. I don't think it looks extremely good, but I think it's just different from what people are used to seeing as a brand new model and that's what drove the attention.
Personally with my G37 I don't want it attracting too much attention, while it can be good sometimes, it can also be a bad thing...

Couldn't have been said any better!

Wow, this has got to be the best one yet SoCal,
"Another one was actually last night. I was on the 91 freeway and a Ferrari F430 driver gave me a thumbs up. Brand new, no plates yet."
An F430 is super cool but the thumbs up from someone in that car would definitely make me want to but 2 G37's if not 1.

I just got mine this weekend "Blue Slate 6MT w/Nav and Tech" and a lot of rubbernecking. One friend that has a lexus E330 said "this is a man's car...my car is for women"...we laughed.

I got a couple of stares at intersections when I was test-driving it this Saturday. I made sure those who weren't looking WERE looking when I growled at roll-off, accelerating quickly and did a couple of chirps down the road in shifting.

That'll definitely get people's attention. It will also get the 5-0's attention, too.

I've had several compliments in the last week, but the best happened this past weekend:
I was coming out of Auto Zone where I had picked up some detailing cloths and such in preparation for the G's first waxing. The AZ I was at was in a rougher part of town where its not uncommon to see homeless people and / or beggars. So when this man fitting that description said something to me, I wasn't surprised, but here's pretty much how it went:
Guy: Whoooooowee! That is a NICE car.
Me: Thank you!
Guy: So let me ask you one question?
Me: Sure thing
Guy: Who did you have to kill to get that car?
Needless to say, I didn't have much of a response. Just jumped in the car and drove off.
