Let me know. Thanks.
i held it up to the visor on boot-up and it had no problem finding a signal. in its current position (down low on the windshield) it finds a gps sig within a few seconds.. even when pulled into the garage. I'm loving the detector.. not only has it been accurate.. it does a great job of trying to not bother you unless it has to.. meaning all the auto-mutes, auto-volume-low, low speeds go soft etc.. I thought gps on the device might just be an expensive gimmick for geeks (like me) but its a cutting tech device with true ROI.. highly recommend.

.. i still get a kick out of it when you start your car.. after a few seconds you hear.. "gps signal acquired"

Anyone know if the G35 lowering springs are compatible with the G37?

- first off i'm picking up a new gps radar detector by passport (http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm). I've been eying this one since it came out so i might as well add the latest and greatest detector to my new ride
- just as soon as apple comes out with the next gen 80gig ipod i'll pick one of those up, fill it up full of tunes and keep it in the arm rest.
- get a tint job.. as dark as massachussets allows (suggestions on where to get this please give me a buzz!)
- get a suction cup holder for my fastlane toll road pass so i dont have to stick velcro onto my windshield (http://www.lindenline.com/LLP_EZClipTollPassHolder.php)
- will get snow tires and rims sometime before this winter or next. i'll have a winter beater jeep though so i'm not in a hurry. will prob. hit tire rack for this.
- pick up a window shade

oh yea.. cant forget this one..
- a lint free cloth for wiping up the drool i and others will leave on the car.

Thats all for now..

Thanks to your post, I purchased an Escort 9500i. I love it. Do you know how difficult it is to wire the detector into the car so that I won't have that coil cord to deal with. Any comments would be appreciated!

About ipods, I saw a pic of the ipod jack, but they also have audio and video RCA input jacks. does any one know if you can play movies on the info/nav screen?

It seems BM, mounts his low... near the dash.
I mount mine high, near the rearview mirror. My car has a power source going into the back of my rearview mirror and its very easy to tap into that source. I purchased this thing called the invisicord to help me wire my detector to the rear view mirror for power.

I got the invisicord from here: http://www.invisicord.com/index.html and have been extremely happy with it for the last 2 years. You can see all the details on that site and how it would eliminate that unsightly dangling cord.

The person who makes these used to be a member on G35driver i think, but u can always go to the site and email him. He is cool to deal with and will work with you in case the cord for the g35 doesnt fit the rearview mirror of the g37.

I plan on trying my old invisicord with the G37, and if it doesnt work, i will be contacting him.

sounds like a nice solution but for me (and others how have the escort 9500 and 9500i) is the remote mute button which i use to ignore alarms from time to time. the remote is on the end of the power cord.. close to the driver in most cases... you'd loose that functionality with the invisi-cord solution. if thats not a big deal to you i'd suggest giving the invis-thing a try.

Yea, good point... i'm so used to using the mute that is on the radar detector unit itself to mute false alerts, rather than the one that came on my power cord.

I didn't realize that the 9500i didnt give you that option of the 2nd mute button on the device itself. Are you sure BM? That would def suck then.

I think the cord is like < $15 shipped... when i bought it.

in the end i dont think "not having" the remote mute is a big deal.. yea.. i believe there is one on the remote itself.. i've become so used to just hitting the remote it's second nature. I think (not sure) the remote allso lets you tag alerts by gps coordinates so it'll ignore them for you. Anyway.. i think the invisicord is a great solution for most who want to hide their detector. I put my in the glove box when i leave.. esp since its nearly $500 bucks.

Well just was at a dealership for about an hour, I tell you there's isn't much room in the trunk for the N20 and the airbag setup. But I saw some options

I'm not sure but the springs look like the g35 springs will fit, I'm betting the spring rate is different though.

I just hard-wired my detector on Sunday (Bel 995). Didn't know about the Invisi-Cord, but that definitely seems like a good idea. I ended up tapping into the reverse lamps for power, which was fairly easy because the wiring is right by the fuse box in the footwell on the driver's side, and when the trim pieces are removed, there's a series of wires that are grounded to a screw right there as well, so finding a place for the ground wire wasn't an issue.

It involved removing the left trim on the A pillar, the left finish piece on the dash (the piece that gets covered when the door is closed, and the black trim by the kick plate all the way to the trim covering the fuse box. All in all, it took probably about 45 minutes to do, and I mounted the remote silence button by the hood release (not the most convenient spot, but since I'm used to using the button on the unit itself, it's not a big deal).
