i was also looking into getting my windows tinted. which ones are you getting tinted for $395. it sounds like the llumar ceramic is top-of-the-line. i got a quote today for 3M. maybe i will reconsider. any idea how i can find a llumar installer in my area. i live in new jersey. any help would be much appreciated.

i'm pretty sure that Llumar is one of, if not the best selling brand of automotive window tint. the place i called is known for doing installations on higher end vehicles. i called and asked for a quote for 20% all around sans windshield, to which the guy said $220. i said, "i have a new G37 with Nav and XM and would like options". he then explained every grade of tint and the different types (metallic vs ceramic) and the implications of having either. i've also read many times over on g35driver that Huper Optic is boss, so i inquired about it. i was told (from more places than just this one) that the Llumar ceramic is comparable.

wow, sorry if that seemed long-winded. http://www.llumar.com/na-eng/Automotive/auto.html is Llumar's website, but i can almost guarantee that if you look in the yellow pages, you'll find places that use it. all you have to do is ask them

When you're choosing film, make sure you pick a film that has the "color" that you want. Some will look traditional black/charcoal, some will look silver, green, etc. depending on the material (e.g., metallic, ceramic, dye, hybrid, etc).

Also, Huper Optik has a ghosting problem with the back window. I'm not entirely sure if this is just due to HO or a ceramic film problem.

Lastly, a tint is only as good as its install. So be sure to go to a reputable place to get it done (with lifetime warranty).

I have purchased the escort 9500i, invisicord, and the mount to go under the rear view mirror. I'll keep everyone updated on whats happening. They should arrive some time late next week.

Not true I know for a fact that they are not needed and in fact not even issued in Nova Scotia or Alberta. IMO I think no one should need a front plate they look ugly and really the photo radar and cops only get ya from behind. LOL.

This car is full of entertainment, well as long as you get the NAV.
Any one know how the interlock works that keeps you from playing video while driving? Is it a switch on the p-brake or what?

you would need to ground the Vehicle Speed Sense wire and the Parking Brake wire. a DPDT switch would work well for this.
