Break in poll

After reading the break in thread, I started to wonder how many have tried the specific fast break in vs by the book. I've always do it according to the manual and never had any problems, but would love to just drive.

Fairly interesting. for those who did the hard break in before, and obviously like the results for you are doing it again, how exactly did you do it?

As this will be my first new car, I will probably do the break-in according to the manual.

Can't go wrong doing it by the book. That way when the 1200 miles are up it will be all the more sweeter to get on it.

now that more people are on the site and getting their cars, I thought I'd bump this up.

I don't beat on it, but I tend to break my cars in a little harder than some would do. I am softer on the transmission and brakes as much as possible. I vary the mph and rev's often. I also change my oil at 1000 miles. After that I push the car more.

i broke 400 miles yesterday. today i plan on letting her warm up a bit, then let the VLSD flex her muscles a bit. don't want to push it for too long as it'll be in excess of 100 F out here when i leave work.

Will the brake in procedure be different for cold weather brake in?
(i.e. 5 to -15 C)

the break in procedure shouldn't be different, but i'd be sure to let her warm up a good bit first! Jesus that's cold!
