order issues...

Wow $2500 off MSRP? That's nice... but umm, I honestly don't know what I would do in this kind of situation. Just try working it out with the sales manager and pretty much tell him that you demand so and so or you're just going to go to another dealership (that will either have a "I'm sorry sir, I'll certainly accomodate you" or "Fine, go to another dealership, we'll sell any car that you were thinking of to another person easily" kind of response). Best wishes to your decision.

Hmm, looking over my post, I might have made it come off wrong. It was totally unnecessary that they offered me a different car with that discount. However, it wasn't what I was looking for, and now my order is delayed ~2 months. Meanwhile, my current lease will end, leaving me with no car for about a month. I don't want to extend my lease and put more money into a car that I am just giving up. My order had a small discount and I am a return leasee, so I imagine they would try and keep my business - but I am just trying to think of the best way to try and bridge that gap when I wouldn't have a car....
Any more suggestions on how the dealer could accomodate my situation between leases? Since my order might be delayed 2 months (by october, most dealers might be budging off of MSRP anyway) - I'm trying to find a fair compromise where I don't pay more or have to wait even longer.

Maybe extend your lease for 1 more month free of charge?
