G37's on hold

My dealer told me the status of order for my new G37 coupe is shown as on hold now. Just last Monday it was shown as due to arrive week of August 31. I ordered a Journey, with Sport/Tech/Prem/Nav packages in red. General Manager called Infiniti to inquire about what on hold means and heard that al are now being shown as on hold but arrival time is unchanged still later this month. Anyone hearing same story or something else on delivery timing?

Are you seeing a hold on orders you have or same message I heard last Monday, due week of August 31? Also any truth to a rumor that nav might cause a delay for those ordered with it?

I would so be upset too. Good luck!

Also, my dealer is always behind the curve ball but they told me my car would not be here until after Aug 21st. That is all I got. IMO they will prob come in when they get the preview car that they will show on the 16th. At least I hope so.

Are you pissed because your dealer did not read the Infiniti announcement "cancelling" all August orders and requiring the dealers to reconfirm them? Or, are you pissed because you missed this announcement posted throughout the internet? Or, are you pissed because no one involved with your car seems to be paying attention to what is going on in the world of Infiniti?

Back in June, Infiniti cancelled all G37 dealer pre-orders and sent reconfirmations to the dealerships. The reconfirmed orders were all re-entered into the system. I do not know why Infiniti purges and reloads it's system, but it seems to do this every now and then.

Due to the earthquake, Infiniti wants to re-determine what it has orders for and match the order delivery time to the piston rings and bearings deliveries it can get from it's supplier after the supplier has redetermined it's manufacturing capabilities after the earthquake.

If you had an order in before, unless your dealer really screws up, you will have the same order in again, once everything is updated. Except, now, the delivery of your car will be delayed anywhere from two to four weeks.

I feel your pain. I placed a deposit last year and was one of the lucky ones who got to pre-order this spring with an estimated delivery date of August 21st. Now the dealer cannot even confirm that the car has been built yet. I understand their our things outside of Infiniti's control. I just wish they would have better communication with
their customers.

well I cannot say for other dealers but I got VIN #'s and order status for every G37 coming. Yes, we have no control over earthquakes which has put a halt and delay cars coming. the ship only goes so fast from Japan. at least they're not built in America like some other brands

I don't know where you guys are from but here in Houston, the majority of the G37's on the inventory list have not been reserved yet.

In Los Angeles county, 75% of the cars are not reserved. You can walk into any dealer and order a G37 with any options and the ETA would be August 31, 2007.

There are G37s at my local dealership now. Apparently not all orders are on hold.
